Our Sales Team Leader, Simon Waterhouse, has been part of a team which has raised over £44k for the Christie’s charity.
Simon’s friend Brad was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma – a type of bone cancer. Doctors warned that Brad’s leg may have to be removed, however, as a result of the treatment received at the Christie hospital in Manchester, the tumour size has been significantly reduced and can now be removed with an operation.
To express the gratitude to the work undertaken by Christie’s for Brad and many others in the same situation, a fund raiser was organised and Simon with his friend Andy decided that a sponsored 50 mile run (yes 50 miles !) would be a suitable challenge.
The pair ran the 50 miles (almost two marathons) in just under 17 hours, leaving from Runcorn and running to Brad’s home in Conwy in a single day. The challenge began at 3am and was completed just before 7pm with lots of support and encouragement along the way.
A staggering £44k has been raised so far, with additional donations arriving daily, an amazing achievement, very well done to both.
If you would like to join the many others who have donated to this very worthy cause, please visit the website, every little helps.
